get:
1 -
Reprints of a dozen "Growing House" designs, first published in the
U.S. Department of Agriculture's 1935 booklet, Farmhouse Plans,
to show how low-cost, small houses can be planned to grow into
larger, more comfortable homes, over time. The idea was to
help Depression era homeowners spread the cost of construction over many
years as houses were expanded in two, three or more stages.
2 -
Original Plan Catalog Numbers that you can use to come back to
Prosperity Plans.net and find free copies of the actual 1934
blueprints for each of the designs.
Although the blueprints are not suitable for
today’s building codes, they are a great source for design ideas and
attractive construction details.
3 -
Architect Donald Berg's forward to the new book with photos of the
homes and of American life
during the Great Depression.
4 - A free
subscription to Back Home, Don Berg's biweekly
newsletter with practical free plans for all types of country
buildings.
